A driveway, a side street, a yard behind a workshop: the places vehicles disappear from are ordinary. Some owners only look at tracking after a quote, a near miss, or a neighbour’s van going missing overnight. Others are told by an insurer that a recognised system may be part of the cover they want.
That is the context for the ScorpionTrack DRIVER S7 ALS, listed by Trackershop at £189 including VAT, with the retailer describing free UK installation. The hardware price is not the whole cost. The same listing says a tracking subscription is required after the unit is fitted and commissioned, with plans typically from £12.49 a month. Those figures can change, so the product page is the place to confirm them.
What the listing actually describes
According to Trackershop, the S7 is a fitted vehicle tracker for cars, vans, HGVs, motorhomes and other 12V or 24V vehicles, including some motorcycles. It is presented as a covert unit, not a gadget left on the dashboard. The seller says it uses GPS along with Galileo and GLONASS, offers app and computer access, and can send alerts for movement, towing, tamper, battery disconnect and low battery.
European tracking is described as included with the subscription. Optional remote immobilisation is listed as an extra, not part of the base tracker. Transfer to another vehicle is possible for an additional fee. Warranty length should be checked on the current listing — published pages have not been consistent about two years versus three.
Why fitting matters more than the box
A tracker that a thief can see and unplug in a minute is a different product from one wired into the vehicle. The retailer says a mobile engineer can attend in one to four working days, and that fitting plus a handover typically takes 45 to 90 minutes. Yujun Tools has not attended an installation and is not presenting this as a road test.
Who it is aimed at
Work vans
Tools and vehicles parked on streets or sites are a common reason people look at tracking.
Family cars
Some insurers recognise Thatcham S7 systems. Ask your insurer before you assume a discount or a requirement.
Larger vehicles
The listing also names HGVs, motorhomes, plant and some motorcycles, subject to a suitable install.
What this is not
It is not a promise that a vehicle cannot be stolen. It is not a substitute for keys, locks, lighting or where you park. Driver-behaviour data, where offered, is a fleet-style extra, not proof of how any one person drives. Remote immobilisation, if you want it, is a separate option and a separate conversation about safety and legality of use.
